In response to Covid 19, we are leaving 24 hours between reservations, cleaning with approved antibacterial products and doing an additional sanitizing inspection. Stay at Palm Island Resort, located on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast, is the state’s only true-out island resort. No bridges or causeways to the island exsist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting. The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island. Guests travel to the island via car ferry and park their car in our island parking area. Transportation is provided by our bell staff and golf carts are also available for rent for registered guests.
Enjoy access to one of the 5 heated pools, plus hot tub and gas BBQ grills at each pool area. 11 hard tennis courts available for play and always complimentary. Our recreation center, Coconuts, offers a variety of rentals to include golf carts, bicycles, kayaks and beach umbrellas. Our full service concierge can also arrange for everything from massages to fishing charters. Be sure to catch a Pirate Show with the resort’s own Red Beard the Pirate. Join a complimentary water aerobics class, nature walk or yoga on the beach when scheduled.   Three generations vacationing together in villas. The PERFECT arrangement for those who wanted to beach and those who preferred the back porch. The beach was beautiful and the available chairs were an added bonus! We did all the offered events - cocktails & 1/2 price appetizers, s’mores and even kayaked - I cant begin to describe how unexpected this all was!!   Honestly, the only negative is the twin beds in the second bedroom were harder than the floor. I slept on the sofa... a bit pricey to share a sofa. Invest in better beds or warn adults that twins are rocks.

  PI Resort is a family favorite ... we've been vacationing there each year since 1987. Recently, I planned a very special mother-daughter trip and we had a wonderful time but the condo was very disappointing. The rental agent told me this unit had gone through a complete renovation recently and had a "superior" rating. Having high expecations, I was surprised when the laundry door fell off the tracks the first time we opened it, one of the kitchen cabinet doors was falling off the hinges, and the master bath toilet would only flush when we lifted the lid and manually flushed it. We called two days in a row to request that the toilet be fixed but maintenance was a "no show". I have stayed in lovely condos at PI Resort but this one was not ... I would rate it "inferior". We didn't let it spoil our overall PI Resort experience ... the condo was the only disappointing part of this special trip.

  We stayed in a 2 bedroom ocean view on second floor. This was very convenient to be able to walk down the back stairs to the pool, beach and other relative's condos. However on the last 2 days we stayed there a large family was above us and you can hear their footsteps above you. We sleep with a sound machine and even that could not drown the noise. I believe all the units are like that so a third floor unit may be the way to go to ensure that doesn't happen again. The unit was nicely decorated and clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The bed was comfy and they changed out the patio table. Wifi had a good connection as well. Overall I would stay in this unit again. As always we had a great time at the beach and on the island.

  We love Palm Island and this was our 3rd year. We stayed in a unit that was a standard rating this year because money was tight, however the linoleum shouldn't be peeling up, the oven signal lights should work and the refrigerator should be colder. This unit was also not very well stocked like others we have stayed in. No BBQ tools, no corkscrew, teacups but no coffee mugs, no plastic bowls with lids. The location was awesome, I would suggest unit 3313 next door where our friends. Beautiful unit.

  I've been living in Southwest Florida for 13 yrs and an executive in the high-end hospitality industry; I think Palm Island Resort is one of the nicest casual places to stay on the Gulf. The unit was roomy, comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly.. If you're looking for a high energy, full service resort, not the right place to stay. However, if you are looking for a casual, relaxing, tropical get-away; Palm Island Resort is a perfect match. Participated in the yoga on the beach which was a beginner class but the setting is stunning complete with a . A pod of dolphins. Captain Red Beard, the island's "pirate" is the nicest pirate you'll ever meet. Was great with the kids and extremely accommodating. We arrived late to the crafts he was doing on Saturday and he stayed late to make sure my nieces got to make their necklaces without a word of complaint. Helpful Hints: in making the most of this resort. Bring some beach towels, none is supplied. Definitely bring groceries. The kitchens are well stocked & grill areas so its convenient to make any meals you want. Also there are multiple grill areas for cook outs too. Beach chair placement is DIY. Lastly, golf cart rental is expensive ($50.00 a day) so try and book a package that includes golf cart rental. Overall, a great experience.

  While I love staying at Palm Island and visit annually, I will never stay in this unit again. The stove was not working properly. Maintenance fixed it but a safety concern still existed without heat sensor lights working. The refrigerator shelves were broken, the laundry room doors were broken and the linoleum was peeling up. The unit was very worn looking. Pool, beach, staff, and resort were wonderful, and we thankfully did not spend much time in the unit. However, I will definitely request a different unit next year.

  The villa we stayed in had not been renovated. It was the same as 20 years ago. Many we have stayed in have new furniture, flooring, appliances and updated kitchen and baths. This unit was clean, but not updated. Beautiful view from every unit. 1st floor is nice because of the back entrance, although you can hear the creaking of the people walking in the villa above. Great fishing, shelling and shark tooth hunting. We will be back again next year!!

  We drove with family & friends from Brooksville, FL. The drive was very easy. Once we got to the resort, we were on "island time". We rented golf carts and hit the water. We brought our boat and had a blast! The accomodations were nice. It was great having a washer/dryer in the unit. The kids had a ball. We watched the sunset on the pass and fished off shore. We just got back and are looking into returning again soon!

  Although we only live in Venice, not far away, we come to Palm Island every year for the Tropical Nights event and have done so for several years, always having the BEST time. We come by boat during other times as well to enjoy Rum Bay. So close to home but feels so far away and relaxing.
