Located at Palm Island Resort on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast. No bridges or causeways to the island exist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting.
The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island.
Guests travel to the island via car ferry and park their car in our island parking area. Transportation is provided by our bell staff and golf carts are also available for rent for registered guests.

  We’ve been coming to Palm Island for eighteen years now and think it’s the best beach anywhere! This was our second stay in the unit and it suits us to a T. The only problem we had this stay was the dryer didn’t work. We don’t like having to bring back dirty, sandy clothes😧. Other than that, absolutely wonderful!

  Spent two day getaway on PI and thoroughly enjoyed the break. The location to Rum Bay (Restaurant) was perfect. The only downside was the coffee maker which resort team said they would replace upon our departure (3 star). We plan to build on island and recommend staying at the resort for anyone wanting a private, non-commercial type of vacation. Old Florida still exists!

  We booked our two night stay for May 2021. There weren’t many available condos and overall the stay was great. We have been 4 times before over the years but this was the first time being on the first floor. Our first night was pretty noisy as the people upstairs were back and forth running and we heard everything so it was hard to sleep. The second night was much quieter as I think they must have left. After that things were great and we really enjoyed it. Next time we will be sure to find a spot that is upstairs as you hear every step being taken.

  Well it's been 117 days since my 3rd heart attack on January 2, 2017. I cannot believe after being shocked back to life and told that my life has changed but not for the better on January 2 but as it turns out I came out on the other side of this in better shape than before January 2 and my cardiologist says he cannot believe it! I have been to three times since given the OK to live again from my cardiologist! Had a great time you all need to check this place out it will give you a unbelievable feeling that this exists just a few hours away from Fort Lauderdale and it takes you away to help you realize what's important in life and to give you new direction and this is what Palm Island Resort has done for me!

  The one bedroom condo was updated and very clean, and well furnished. This particular unit (3514) was well located on the resort property, near the Beach Villas pool (which, unfortunately during our stay, had a heating malfunction, and we didn't get to use it.) We were allowed access to another pool, but farther away. WiFi service was almost non-existent. Luckily, our unit was located near the Coconuts Ice Cream Shop so we walked there at least twice a day to use the internet. Overall, enjoyed the place and would go back again.

  We got almost everything we were looking for in this vacation getaway -- it is the perfect place to disconnect from the stress of the world and reconnect with each other. We never turned on a TV or looked at social media or online news. Beautiful sunsets, perfect weather, good books, good food and plenty of wine made for an almost perfect vacation. Our only complaint: The bed in our villa was very uncomfortable and squeaky. Every time one of us turned over, which was often because it was so uncomfortable, there was a loud squeak. It was hard to sleep! My hubby was smart enough to bring his own pillow which helped, along with a sleeping pill. But who needs sleeping pills on vacation??? Next time I will bring my own pillow and will try the bed first before unpacking. If the bed is uncomfortable again we will ask to be moved to another room. Yes, we will definitely be back!

  This a wonderful place. About 100 yards from the beach. We walk the beach every day and find unique shells. About 100 feet from the pool heated to about 88 degrees. About 100 yards from a restaurant. About 50 feet from tennis courts (we don't play tennis.)
  The pluses: Clean high quality condo. Friendly helpful staff. Many extras included - free ferry, free water taxi, wide open beaches, not many people
  The minuses: Ferry, overpriced golf cart rental, distance to exercise room, limited restaurants in town,
  Pluses far outweigh the minuses. We are actually here for another week. Two weeks total. We hope to come again.

  Our vacation was phenomenal. The location helps you disconnect like no other. You are just a walk from the beach and in total relaxation mode from the minute you step into the island. The staff was friendly and helpful! The only issue we had was that our back door did not lock. When we called and asked to come fix it they just added some wd40 and it worked for a short amount of time before it broke again. The maintenance staff assured that we were safe on island but coming from a big city we were not comfortable wih that answer. We had two sleepless nights because of this. Without that mishap I would give the island a 10 and its a must go destination.

  The island was lovely, and it was a nice get-away. It would have been nice to have been closer to the beach, but we had a nice view of the ocean and were close to a pool. The check-in process was confusing, and we had to ask at the sales office across the street after several stops for directions. I was a little put off by the woman at the front desk. She really wasn't very friendly and kept stressing that we would have to pay for damage to the villa or lost keys. Then there was the a la carte list if charges for damages to the villa. I felt like I was walking on eggshells the whole time instead of being welcomed. The villa was okay, but I was expecting something much nicer after all the fuss about damages. It had all the basics, but could use an upgrade to more modern televisions (it had old CRTs instead of flat-screens). The view of the outside and the outside itself really made the whole vacation. I was also a little leery of the type of clientele they must attract after the whole damages thing, but everyone was nice and quiet. I was worried it would be rowdy, but it was all couples like us and a few families. We will definitely go back to the Gulf coast, but we may try another place next time.

  Palm Island is a peaceful little resort on a private island. Even when the island is at max capacity you can still sit on the beach and not see another person for a mile. The amount of nature is what amazes me. We have had dolphins jump in the wake behind our boat, we have seen 3 different kinds of crab, watched bunnies hop across the road, watch all kind of birds (even an eagle), and watched several gopher turles enjoy their morning breakfast. All of the staff on the island, from the office to Coconuts to Rum Bay, are incredibly friendly and treat you like family!!
  Have been twice within a 3 month period and can't wait to return ASAP!!!

  We had a very enjoyable stay at Palm Island. Two things that could use some attention: the bikes available for rent are in deplorable and just barely safe condition. They need to be replaced. A nice resort should reflect its attitude towards its customers with reasonable equipment and we did not feel the bikes were in good condition. Second: it would be very nice to have a breakfast restaurant on site. We were there for just two nights/three days on rather a last-minute trip and did not want to be bothered with cooler and food. Other than those two things it was a very nice stay in a lovely condo. The facilities were clean and well kept and the staff were helpful and friendly. We had a great time.

  This area is very quiet and relaxing, and our unit at Palm Island was perfect. It's definitely not the place to go if you're looking for nightlife and lots of activity...but if you want to visit a beautiful beach, perhaps go shelling, and simply relax...THIS IS IT! The only thing that I can truly say was not up to snuff is the Rum Bay restaurant: the food and drinks were barely average. The best thing the restaurant has going for it is location, as it's very convenient. If the decor and menu were revamped they would have a gold mine, but as it is I would not eat there again. Having said that - I would surely visit the resort again, and just eat elsewhere!

  The location is superb, and the privacy is exactly what we want. The rental unit is very nice, with the addition of a king-size bed this year (we've rented the same unit for several years). The furniture could use a litte upgrade as could the lighting - hard to find a comfortable spot for reading after dark, and with the king-size bed we lost one nightstand and lamp in the bedroom. Minor complaints - everything else is geat and we'll be back next year.

  This was our seventh year returning to visit Palm Island resort..sometimes staying with my best friend and sometimes in a condo. There is no other place like it! If you want a quiet, relaxing and wonderful break , this is where to come. We rented a golf cart ( feels like Toonerville Trolley land as everyone walks, bikes or rides in a cart) to get to Stump Pass for wonderful shelling and walking, Or we walked out to the beach in front of our gulfview condo to relax by the ocean on resort provided lounge chairs. A beautiful pool and hot tub were clean and heated. Condos are well equipped. Front office staff greeted us with smiles and help with any housekeeping or maintenance questions. Help is available on arrival to lug luggage and groceries into the condo. Restaurants on and off the island. We cooked out on clean, in good working order grills, admired beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and watched old time movies on TV. This year we had a two week stay. we are hoping to stay a month next year. Palm Island Resort gets our highest praise for the best vacation spot. Shelling is the best!!!!
