Located at Palm Island Resort on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast. No bridges or causeways to the island exist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting.
The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island.

  This was our fifth time coming to Palm Island and it never disappoints!! We stayed in unit 3522 which was very clean and a very nice unit. Would recommend the owner replace the washer and dryer with a full size unit. It would take up to two hours to dry a load of clothes and the lint trap kept falling out and getting tangled in the clothes. The washer is tiny and you could only fit two beach towels in there at a time. Also the vent in the guest bedroom had a piece of cardboard stuck in it and it would rattle when the AC would turn off and on. Otherwise, the staff was exceptional and our family had a wonderful time. It’s truly a special place!

  We chose Palm Island because we wanted a vacation close to family that lived in Rotunda West. It is a very relaxing location away from the over crowded hot spot spring beach locations. However, those locations are only a short drive away. It is a golf cart community with permanent, snow bird and vacationers. However, I have never met such nice people and staff. If you travel off property, you must keep the ferry / water taxi schedule in mind.

  The condo was nice...close to the beach, tennis, and restaurant which meant we did not have to rent a golf cart. Beds were comfortable and rooms were good size. Only issue with condo was the back porch smelled like pet urine when it rained (porch had a couch set not table and chairs) so we did not want to sit out there. A/C was noisy in the smaller room but didn't bother my son. We have stayed in Palm Island many times and we love this area. Private beach with no crowds is what we like. Overall this was a great stay...recommend renting bikes and touring the island.

  We have been visiting the Palm Island Resort for over 20 years. This year we rented two condos for one week to accommodate our children and grandchildren. The resort has an old Florida look and feel that we all like. It’s quiet and peaceful with beautiful sunset views and miles of uncrowded coastline. It looks like many of the units are being refurbished but one of ours was not. Resort were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our time and will be back again.

The unit was clean and had everything needed for our stay. The only negative was the carpeting. It was stained and dirty. An upgrade in flooring would be a good improvement.

  Very awesome. We live in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida so we have our own beach across the street from our condo. This place is ideal for a wedding. If you do not live walking distance to a beach and you want to vacation and spend all your time at the beach then this is your spot.   The beaches are terrific. Growing up on the Pinellas County beaches, I'm used to the beautiful white-sand beaches that the Gulf provides. However, there are always large crowds of people on those public beaches. On Palm Island we were able to enjoy a much more private setting. More pristine and less commercial. It's a perfect place for the beach lover to unwind. It is also somewhat limited on things to do. Other than tennis and the beach, there isn't much else to do on the island. The kids enjoyed playing on the beach for a couple of days. I think they would have started to lose interest if we'd stayed much longer. Without the kids, my wife and I could have stayed for a few more days.

  The only disappointment was a delay in checking in. We waited over an hour for our accommodations to be ready for occupancy. Waiting outside in the heat was difficult.

  Kyle, Frank, Diane and "Big Bird" (the server in the restaurant) were awesome! Overall the proerty is well well maintained, staff is great and it was everything we expected! We collected sharks teeth, saw the manatees, collected shells and made lots of memories,

  I have been vacationing at palm island for 20 years. The condition of my last unit was sub-par. The beds were like sleeping in ironing boards. There was not enough utensils and dinnerware. The toaster did not work. It was obvious the unit was not well maintained by the owner. That said, I would return to palm island with the proviso that the unit amenities were upgraded.

• Best Beach on Florida's West Coast! Very relaxing vacation at Beautiful Palm Island. Tons of shelling sanddollars, conch shells, starfish and sharks teeth. Great for all ages.

  We loved our 2 bedroom condo. The bathrooms were updated, there were plenty of towels, and all was neat and very clean. We've stayed on the island many times and this was our best experience! We were there for the Y's Tropical Nights fundraiser.

  Our family of 4 began visiting the resort the first summer it opened in 1984 when our boys were 7 and 10. 25 years (and annual vacations) later, it's still their favorite vacation spot; and we've been many places in the world. Now they bring their spouses and children because they want their families to love the resort as much as they do. Their plan is definitely working. We love the freedom of "the island" and the convenience of the grills, pools and tennis courts. We hate to go "off island" and do so only to visit the nearby Publix. We felt very comfortable letting our boys roam alone when they were young and the resort was smaller; although there has been a lot of development since 1984, the environment still seems safe. We usually request--and have been able to occupy--the same unit each summer, and that makes the whole experience "a home away from home." Last summer, the bed in the master bedroom had an uncomfortable mattress (sagging in the middle) which made sleeping soundly difficult; but this inconvenience did not color the enjoyment of the visit. We plan to continue these vacations at Palm Island, although our increasing number of grandchildren will force us to reserve larger--and less familiar--accommodations!
