Located at Palm Island Resort on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast. No bridges or causeways to the island exist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting.
The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island.
Guests travel to the island via car ferry and park their car in our island parking area. Transportation is provided by our bell staff and golf carts are also available for rent for registered guests.

Tennis courts available for play and always complimentary.
Our recreation center, Coconuts, offers a variety of rentals to include golf carts, bicycles, kayaks and beach umbrellas.

  Island and setting is beautiful! Our stay was very marred by rampant and relentless swarms of mosquitoes that seemed to be stemming from standing water around and under the buildings. Please consider having the area spayed and address the water buildup.
  Our unit view was great. That said, with the price charged, it was very dated and the living and dining room furniture is stained. Dishwasher functional but racks do not pull out easily. Kitchen was well stocked and very clean though.
  Bathroom shower doors are not easily functional and there were no hand towels, only bath and wash clothes.
  Bedroom was good with exception f not having extra blankets.
  Upon arrival, the bell staff did not assist with unloading nor did they provide clear directions on what we needed to do for check in. Was a very awkward experience.
  Pool areas were beautiful and well maintained.

  A great place to go, so tranquil so serene. staff is very friendly and accommodating. it's a great place to go and I just unplug. When on the beach all you can hear is the waves and the wind sometimes you didn't see anybody for an hour. Although you could not see the sunset from this villa the location was actually very close to restaurant and a short walk to the beach even shorter walk to the pool and barbecue grills. The villa was comfortable although it could stand a few minor repairs and refurbishing

  We had a wonderful time. Palm Island is less than an hour away from our home in Venice, but we literally felt like we were in another world!! I took an hour long walk on the beach and saw only two people! The wait staff was friendly and efficient and food the food at Rum Bay was outstanding. The menu is extensive; we ate lunch and dinner there every day and did not run out of things to try. The condo was lovely; it was beautifully decorated and neat as a pin; the view from the balcony was breathtaking. We discovered Island Community Church and worshipped there on Sunday. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!!

  We had never heard of this place but came here for the wedding of a dear old friend. From the time that we boarded the ferry, thru check-in we felt very welcomed. Our Villa was very clean, fully stocked with all the amenities of home and decorated in a cute beachy theme. The view was spectacular and the restaurant was a stone throws away from the Villa. GREAT Food!!! I strongly urge you to rent a Golf Cart so you can explore the entire Island! Absolutely Heaven. The entire staff was very nice and more than accommodating. The only thing I can think of that was negative was that the Caulking between the bathroom tub and wall tile needed to be scraped off and replaced. Most of it had come away from the wall which could cause leaking in the unit below if not repaired eventually. Not what we are used to but a minor cosmetic issue. We will be back!

  My husband and I had a very stressful year and were looking forward to a very relaxing anniversary. We found the " Romantic Getaway " package. Greta packahe including golf cart (essential), seafood picnic w/ wine and dinner for 2 in the restaurant. The sunsets were amazing. Unfortunately, Red tide came in the first day of are stay so water sports were out of the question. Also, there are no activities this time of year. We ate at the Rum Bay restaurant daily and found the conch fritters to be outstanding.

  We've been coming to PI/DPI for 20 years beginning with the Resort. We had a couple of issues taken care in the unit after reporting them in about 48 hours. All staff members are very professional and helpful. The golf carts are another story! Bald tires on all three we were assigned;no rearview mirror, and tail lights not working. Very unsafe. We had a blow out on the 2nd cart. The third cart would not take a charge. Carts were being driven by under age kids without parents and overloaded. Even saw one cart with someone riding on the hood in front. Resort patrol never seemed to be around on roads just sitting in the shade watching who knows what?
  
  Rum Bay is awesome as always. Dustin has been waiting on us for over 7 years and is very accommodating, professional, pleasant and attentive. Merry at the front desk is pleasant and professional as were the others at desk. We will be back!!

This was my first time to stay at Palm Island and the staff as well as everyone you passed either walking, bicycling, or in a golf cart were so incredibly friendly .. Waving, saying hello, etc.... Have stayed at Don Pedro Island (connected) 5 times previously. My only complaint was the dishwasher was not working. Numerous attempts were unsuccessful in fixing it. Made it a bit challenging when you want to cook each day! ??

  This was our first visit to your resort, we found it easy to get to the ferry ride was a very short and pleasant. The accommodations were great, perfect for just the two of us, very clean and decorated nicely. The golf carts made exploring the island easy. Unfortunately the weather wasn't perfect but we still got to enjoy the beach and shell hunting. Had dinner at Rum Bay two nights wasn't impressed with the quality of the food or the service. Next time we will eat off island.

  We first visited Palm Island Resort several years ago for a friend's wedding, and decided it would be the perfect spot for our own anniversary weekend. The one bedroom we rented was on the top floor, and the gulf views from the screened-in balcony were amazing! We found some beautiful shells and dozens of shark's teeth on our walks along Shark's Tooth Beach. Our meals at Rum Bay were excellent, and we took the water taxi across to Leverock's one evening and met up with old friends staying at the marina. My husband really loves tooling around the resort in a golf cart. We definitely recommend Palm Island if you need a relaxing place to spend a long weekend! Any longer, and you would just run out of things to do.

  We've always avoided anything with Resort in the name, thinking it would resemble a cruise ship with crowds. We happened upon Palm Island Resort while looking for a room for 1 night near Fort Myers. They had a vacancy, we took it, and liked it so much we extended our stay one night, then switched to a 2 bedroom villa when our daughter and son-in-law arrived. We all enjoyed the quiet, the biking and walking, the activities we chose to participate in (beach yoga and aquacize in the pool),shelling, and the delicious food at the reasonably priced restaurant on site. We left for a week to meet the rest of our family at a rented house on Anna Maria, then returned by ourselves for 2 more nights. Plan to come back next February! Still afraid of Resorts- I can't imagine they'll all be as nice as Palm Island Resort!!

The unit we stayed in our second week was a little worn/outdated but clean. Our first week condo was nice. We stayed in Beach Villas both times.   This was just a one night getaway for my husband and me, as we left the kids at home this time. As always, we had a great time. We stayed in a one bedroom villa for the first time, which was okay. The villla was clean and had a great view of the Gulf. I wish the bedroom had a Gulf view also but it didn't. The villa was clean but I was taken back a bit by the little roach "motels" in the kitchen as I have never seen them in any other villa I've stayed in over the years; however, never saw a bug in the villa of any kind :-). We ate at Rum Bay restaurant, which never disappoints; we love this place. Their food is good and their signature drink - the Rum Bay Smash - is so delicious; I highly recommend giving it a try. I love Palm Island and cannot wait for our next visit.

One of the best shelling beaches I have ever stepped foot upon. And quiet! I love having the feeling you have you own private beach. Stump Pass beach area will always hold a special place for us..   The weather was poor so that did not help. Our rental was excellent and we have stayed in this one before and love the views and location.
  I have been going to Palm Island with my husband and his family for the last 3 years and this was the first time the front office staff was not friendly and prompt at check in. Every other time we have gone to Palm Island we have gotten into our rental before 3 and the front office staff seemed to do everything they could to accommodate us. This time we arrived around 1pm and one of the front office staff did not even look at me but said with her back turned "it won't be ready until 3". Also, I asked if I could be on the email list to receive information about rentals from time to time and she said I was but I said I was not because my sister in law always has to foward me her emails and again she said " we'll you should get them". Coincidently when we returned my sister in law received yet another email and I did not get so I " should" be on the list but I am not.
  We did not get into our villa until nearly 5, the front office staff seemed disorganized when i finally received my keys. When we went to go pick up our golf cart, one younger associate was nice however the other woman working there was not and was questioning whether we made reservations, she seemed just overall flustered as if we were inconveniencing her.
  One young man who worked in the ice cream shop was very nice and welcoming and we did appreciate him.
  Overall we always love coming to Palm Island, but perhaps the from office staff would benefit from continuing education on hospitality.

  Overall our experience was very good. We utilized a "Living Social" offer for this vacation which seemed very reasonable. The unit was very nice, well decorated, and nicely located to services, restaurant, and beach. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the restuarants and the reasonable pricing. The beach shelling was better than Sanibel! The inclusion of use of the ferry and water taxi was a plus as well. Our deal included rental of a golf cart for our stay and a half day rental of a kayak. One of our kayaks was in pretty bad shape and lacked foot pegs, a seat cushion and the seatback adjustment straps were broken, which made seating position and rowing uncomfortable. This was the only negative in our visit. Palm Island Resort was a very good find for us. Keep up the good work!

  This is the second time that we've been to Palm Island and we love it for it's relaxation and beauty. The villa we stayed in last year was fabulous. This year, it seemed like the villa had not been updated in quite some time. The shower doors didn't close right, we were told we would have a large tv, and the one in the unit we had was smaller than the one we have in our bedroom at home. The only bad experience we had on either of our visits was in the restaurant. Last year I had fish for dinner one night and it was bad. I don't mean that it just tasted bad, it was spoiled. The woman at the table next to us said she had gotten sick on the same fish the night before. On this trip, we had pizza one night from the restaurant, and it tasted worse than a frozen pizza. We tried one more time the next night and my salad was full of brown lettuce, my husband had wings and potatoe skins. The wings were good. The celery that came with the wings actually had dirt on it. The potatoe skins were overcooked and had hardly any topping on them. Our experience on the island was great, but just don't eat the food.

  This is a great place with a whole different feel from mainland Florida. Once you park your car, there are no cars allowed in the resort and it's quite large and spread out. A golf cart is necessary if you want to get the most out of your stay.
  We reserved a cart but when we checked in there was no record of it to be found. The carts were sold out and we were never able to obtain one. We felt we were unable to enjoy it to the fullest and had to depend on the staff to shuttle us around. It's not pleasant to wait around for a ride when you have limited time to spare. A cart for each unit should be included with an option to decline instead. They are part of the experience if you want to experience the whole property.

  We have been to Palm Island several times before and the area never disappoints. It is one of the few resorts I've been to where you can walk a beautiful beach and feel you are the only one there. Outstanding for wildlife-sea birds, turtles, manatees, dolphins. Water is clean and crystal clear. Shelling is great. The beach is never crowded. Boating and fishing the best. The pool area is nice, but a few umbrellas for shade would be great for those really hot days. Our unit was nicely decorated but the furnishings are showing their age and should be updated soon. You could live on the porch with its beautiful view. Kitchen was good, and had everything we needed. For a one bedroom condo, it was well layed out. We ran out of clean linens but they were replaced promptly with a call to housekeeping. Rum Bay restaurant's food is improved but still not great-the night we ate there the carpeting was dirty with food spills and service just ok-decor is tired. Lots of room for improvement and we would have eaten there more if the food had been better. Johnny Leverocks is just plain bad. Don't waste money there. People at the marina are super. You will need to rent a golf cart to get around the resort since cars are all parked in a central lot. That's a hidden cost-the only alternative is walking-there are no shuttles except at check-in and check-out. All in all, you can find a more upscale experience in terms of accomodations at other resorts-the Palm Island units need updating-but they also don't cost as much as some other places. The resort is mostly about finding a quiet, peaceful, beautiful place to enjoy the ocean. If frills and nightlife are important to you, this might not be the right place for you. Taking everything into consideration I still give Palm Island Resort top marks.

  While we only stayed one night, this was a great getaway for us. The beach and palm tree views from the well decorated villa and gulf breeze were calming. The beach was pristine and different from ours only 30 minutes away--lots more shore birds and good shelling.I found dozens of fossil shark's teeth to replenish my giveaway jar for visitors. After a cookout on gas grills, the hot tub and pool were a relaxing way to end the evening. We found we really didn't need a golf cart. Everything was close and we enjoyed walking to the pass along the beach. There were games and books for longer stay visitors and families, activities, kayaking, and you can bring your fishing gear or rent some. The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming. The carpet in our unit was on it's last legs but clean. There was a bit of mold in the caulking of the tub, but it's Florida. I have the same problem at home. What a great place for vacation with children who enjoy the beach. We plan to come back again.

  Our stay was excellent until the last night. The peacefulness was distrubed by a group of 200 college students renting some villas. They were noisy and making disturbance well after midnight. These type rentals are not consistent with what one expects from this type of property. Had this happended the first night we would have been very unhappy and requested a refund. This will be a consideration in the future in our decision to return and it is something we would tell any friends wanting to consider the location.

  We had a relaxing stay at Palm Island and wish we could have stayed longer. We purchased the couples weekend retreat and enjoyed the the chilled lobster picnic. Staff was not on the same page with how the picnic worked or the water taxi. When the reservation was made they told us to pick it up at so and so time. Went to get the picnic and they had tried to deliver it to the villa. Was told when we were done with the picnic to call and they would pick everything up, when we called, the staff member said we had to take it back to the restaurant. We also made a reservation to take the water taxi to Leverocks. When the taxi arrived he said he would not be able to bring us back that it would be to late? When we finished eating dinner we watched the water taxi take a couple back? So we took the car ferry over.
  Those were our to little gripes. The villa was very clean and quiet. The beach is great, hardly a soul. Millions of seashells to pick up on the beach. Sand dollars still in the water. All kinds of birds. We also saw a manatee and its calf when exploring one of the docks.

  As a rule for over thirty years we have always stayed off the Gulf in the Redington Shores area so coming to this region was a new experience. Unfortunately it rained throughout the whole visit but this didn't reflect on the actual resort's performance( good old mother nature). We loved it!

  My family has been going to Palm Island for over 20 years, and we always have a wonderful time. The property is simply lovely, and the people who work at the resort are great. This past visit was to celebrate my 25 wedding anniversary, and everything was perfect. The only problem was that the vacation had to eventually come to an end, and it is very very sad to leave. Thanks for all the years of enjoyment.

  Please do not tell anyone about this wonderful getaway. It's like being on your own private Island. From the beautiful beach to the lush tropical palm trees and floral surrondings. The staff are like old friends from the moment you arrive. In fact we loved it so much we bought a villa of our own the second day we were there. Remember keep it a secret!

  The stay was perfect in all regards except one. When we checked in Friday afternoon we heard construction going on in the unit below the one we were renting. This ended about Friday evening at 6 pm, however it started up again Saturday morning at 8 am and lasted until about 5 pm that afternoon. I understand that maintenance must be performed, but the non-stop hammering and sawing definitely hampered the peace and serenity we were looking for on Palm Island. Staff was understanding, but couldn't really help. There were many positive memories throughout our stay alongside this major disruption. Had I known that we would have such a racket right below us for over half our stay, I would not have chosen Palm Island for this engagement weekend with my fiancee.
