Located at Palm Island Resort on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast. No bridges or causeways to the island exist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting.
The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island.
Guests travel to the island via car ferry and park their car in our island parking area. Transportation is provided by our bell staff and golf carts are also available for rent for registered guests.

  Palm Island is ny favorite getaway and I’ve stayed in many units over the years. This is our second time in this unit and I think it’s my favorite! The location is perfect for our family - the pool is directly behind it and the beach access is right behind the pool. This is definitely going to be my go to in the future! Our only complaint this year, which is NOT a problem with the unit, was both of the 6 seater golf carts we tried to rent ending up breaking down. We need a 6 seater so neither of our small kids have to ride backwards (dangerous for them) and it was so disappointing to not have that this time. We enjoyed our time at the pool and beach, but really missed our afternoon golf cart rides exploring the island. I hope the resort is able to make some upgrades in this department soon.

  Palm Island Resort has a great location with nice accommodations. The resort is very private in part due to ferry requirement. We explored the island via golf cart and enjoyed walks along the beach and lounging poolside. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Only downside renting a lower level unit is that you have a disadvantage of listening to upstairs occupants if the unit is occupied. This is beyond the control of owners or managers. We would recommend another stay.

  This is the third year in a row that we have stayed at Palm Island Resort and the first time we have stayed in unit 2613. This has by far been the best unit of the three that we have seen. The kitchen was updated, the furniture and couches were all new and super comfortable, and the bathrooms were spotless when we arrived. The owners of this unit have really worked hard at maintaining and upkeeping their unit up tp date for their guests. We had the pool just feet away from our back balcony, and the back balcony stairs lead you right to the pool. The view of the ocean was perfect and unobstructed. As always, the staff at the resort was the best. When we arrived, they had our room keys and golf cart waiting for us right up front in the parking lot ready to go. This is one of our all time favorite vacation spots and we can't wait to be back next year again. Great Job!!!

  I've been coming to Palm Island for more than 25 years - first as a child with my family, and now as an adult with my own child. It never disappoints! The beach is natural and beautiful and is never crowded. Most days it felt like we were the only ones there! I love that every unit has a beautiful gulf view and access to a pool (which we also had to ourselves each day). I've been so spoiled by Palm Island that I can't imagine staying anywhere else on the Gulf! This unit had a great location - very close to both the pool and beach access, and not too far from the restaurant/store. Our one complaint was the master bed. The mattress was very soft to begin with, but each side was so sunken in that it practically swallowed you. It offered zero support and I can't imagine an older person or someone with a bad back attempting to sleep on it.If it is replaced we'd absolutely stay in this unit again. Can't wait for our next stay at Palm Island!

  Unit was nice, clean and cozy. Perfect location in front of the pool for our toddler. Had everything we needed (except we couldn't find any scissors). However, the unit is on the first floor (which we prefer for easy access to pool and beach) and the people staying in the unit above us were extremely loud and rude. They yelled, screamed and banged up and down the unit, stomping so hard they shook the light fixtures in our unit until after 11:00 pm every night. They were up at 6:00 am doing the same thing. Even when we asked them to stop, they ignored us. They routinely left their trash outside on the landing overnight, allowing animals to get into it and scatter it all over the shared areas. We love Palm Island and will be back, but be aware that if you stay on a first floor unit you will hear the people above you at all hours of the day and night.

We're happy to report that the problems we mentioned have been corrected, and the villa is once again a haven.   New decor and accents tastefully done; but the stove should be replaced because the burners really don't work well. Burned out and missing bulbs in some fixtures. Master bedroom king bed is obviously two box springs pushed together with a ridge in the center. TIme for a new mattress. Hot water was not very hot. Location on the island was very convenient to registration, parking, Coconuts and Rum Bay. As they have been for 30 years, the staff was exceptional--and the Gulf is still beautiful.

  Although the maintenance man worked tirelessly on more than one visit, the tv cable's reception was fair at best. The dishwasher was not connected to the counter and tipped out dangerously close to my foot. The maintenance man did fix that.

  My husband and I needed a break from the every day routine with children, work and chores. It turned out to be a perfect weekend. The weather wasn't the greatest but the view of the ocean and the solitude of the resort was beyond our expectations. We cruised the island on our golf cart and just enjoyed the time we were able to spend together. We went to Rum Bay for dinner which was ok. The service was great and the overall staff were helpful and friendly. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get away from the normal hustle and bustle.

  We have been coming to Palm Island for 15 years and have loved it and the kids have grown up there. However, this is the 2nd time we have stayed in this unit and it is in desperate need of a makeover. The carpet is old and should be replaced with tile.
  The kitchen counters and cabinets are the original outdated formica and not attractive. The furniture was fine, but the other things gave it an unclean feel. Otherwise we love it here and will hopefully continue for another 15 years!

  We have made Palm Island an annual destination for many years because, quite frankly, we can't think of a more relaxing place to stay! This year however, we were first shown to a unit that had a bad smell even though it appeared clean. When they sent housekeeping (Jessica and Christie) to check it out, they agreed that we should find another room, and immediatelt set out to find a substitute. The second room was beautiful, and they were so eager to rectify the situation that it turned an "Oh no!" into an "Oh yes!"
  The next morning my sister and I were taking the golf cart down to the end of the island when it conked out on us suddenly. Fortunately, we were right in front of the Coconuts store, and when we went in and reported the problem, Maggie worked quickly to switch things around (even thought they were fully booked) to get us a replacement...and we were on our way in no time! Things are bound to happen when you travel, but how they are handled is so crucial to the overall success of a vacation; and the pleasant, positive attitude of the staff at Palm Island reminded us again why we keep going back! Thank you for a wonderful time! :-)

• We've been coming to Palm Island for 14 years and love it. However, we have noticed the rooms are not as cared for as in previous years. The floors were coming up in the kitchen and appliances were breaking.

  The overall appearance of the kitchen needs to be updated. Also the carpeting throughout the unit was old and needs to be replaced. WE love the island and will definitely come back, but hopefully our room will be updated a bit.

  Palm Island is a fantastic getaway. However, unit 2613 is VERY noisy when there are guests in the condo above this unit. Also, the front right burner on the stove did not work.

  Carpets need to be cleaned. Improvements needed: There was no privacy in the Master Bedroom..the blinds have been down since '07 and they had terrible wooden shades night no privacy..you could see right through! the appliances need to be replaced..very worn. Disposal
