Located at Palm Island Resort on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast. No bridges or causeways to the island exist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting.
The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island.
Guests travel to the island via car ferry and park their car in our island parking area. Transportation is provided by our bell staff and golf carts are also available for rent for registered guests.

Our recreation center, Coconuts, offers a variety of rentals to include golf carts, bicycles, kayaks and beach umbrellas.

  Our family has been to Palm Island many times, but this was our first time staying at the resort. It was absolutely wonderful! The staff at the resort-- everyone from the registration, concierge and bellmen-- exceeded our expectations. We stayed in 2624. The unit was accurately described, clean and functional. The location was great! The unit could use upgrading, especially in the bathrooms and kitchen. I must also note that both the washing machine and dryer should be replaced. The dryer had a bad habit of eating parts of our clothes, which ruined them-- nothing major, but still it should be replaced, so that future guests don't have the same problem. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and wouldn't hesitate to stay at the resort again, but we would probably choose a different unit, unless changes are made to the one we stayed in.

  Onboarding process to the island was easier than expected. Car ferry runs every 10 mins so no long wait. Check in was a breeze and bellhops took us to our villa and brought up all the luggage. Recommend buying groceries at publix before hand so you have supplies for your first day or so. Villa was clean and spacious and the view was superb. The only thing we did not know beforehand was it is 3 flights up and no elevator. We didn't have a problem but that information should be presented at time of rental in case of elderly or disabled persons. Rum Bay had excellent food and even cooked our catch from our offshore charter (Paradise Fishing)- also recommend. Staff was very friendly and helpful and made you feel like you were home. Also recommend renting a golf cart so you can explore. They also have grills you can use to cook your favorite meats. Pool and hot tub also a plus. Hated to leave this resort.

  The cable box in the living room did not work.
  Dead fish on the shore was a bit of a turnoff. Pool was great. A few accommodations could be made for guests staying a week. i.e. free golf cart.
  This was a wedding so many condos were rented. It was surprising the bride and groom were not given any recognition. When my granddaughter was married the couple was given a free night at the venue with a free breakfast.

  We were in from out of town to attend a wedding taking place on Palm Island.
  We have attended a number of destination weddings over the years but found the Palm Island group to be the most interactive and helpful. There were nine of us, including young children, staying in one of their large villas. There was plenty of room with a very nice kitchen, living room, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. There was easy and safe access to a beautiful pool right behind the villa and a very short walk behind that was a beautiful beach! There is a very nice restaurant, a separate café, tennis courts and a very nice separate exercise area. All of us felt that the stay at Palm Island was much more than we expected and are talking about another trip down together.

  Lovely island, great help by bellman/registration staff. A little confused once off the ferry where to go, a sign would help, unless I missed it!? Also, better information about water taxi hours as we had to cancel/make reservations on the island as the taxi wouldn't accommodate our planned dinner at Leverock's (plus heck of a walk had we used car ferry). I would definitely come back as I felt a million miles away and it took 1 1/2 hours from St. Pete, FL to make the trip.

  What a great, quiet spot so close to home. The ferry ride makes you feel like you're really going somewhere, even though it is a short ride. Our unit was perfect. The kids were all upstairs in the loft area and our location to the pool and beach were just perfect. My son can't wait to go back too - mainly to drive the golf carts and find shark teeth. Not the most handicapped friendly location, but we knew that going in. The staff was extremely helpful. The Land & Sea package was well worth it too! You just have to make your own nightlife as the ice cream shop closes early.

For example there was a large hole in the ottoman cushion that should be repaired and the sliding glass doors did not lock well.   Beautifully remote but close enough to civilisation to mean the girls in the family could particpate in a touch of retail therapy, Palm Island gave us a week of relaxation, shell collecting, swimming with dolphins and manatees, and pelican, sea eagle and gull watching, mixed with tortoise and armadilo spotting.
  Our condo was equppied with all of the modcons and was beautifully clean - in short, perfect. My recommendation is to rent a top floor condo like we did so as to get the best view of the beach.
  The evening's entertainment was watching the astonishing sunset (from the balcony or down on the beach), or being terrified by the lightning storms.
  Our only niggle was the food at the Rum Bay restaurant; the service was outstanding but not matched by the food, we felt.
  But overall, an absolutley fabulous location with super friendly staff. Highly recommended.

  Disappointed we ad to pay extra fpr 6 person golf cart when we had a 3 bedroom unit. It's not worth the dissatisfaction for $15. Otherwise, we were happy with the resort. We did not use the bikes or kayaks which were in the cost of the stay. But, the room was Great! and we would return.

  Our stay at Palm Island worked out to be a very relaxing family break. It was great to relax and enjoy life at a slower pace for a fe days. Our children ages 4 and 6 loved the beach, pools and the pirate show. Hopefully we will be back again next year.

  we came back to palm island after 17 years and it was more or less unchanged which was good. The unit was a little worn and the sheets on the main bed were rough with bobbles on which was a pity. We asked for 4 rooms for 8 adults ( 4 couples) and the 2 rooms upstairs were not private and both open to below and to each other which we had not expected- we knew one of the rooms was open to below but not the other. We did ask reception about this but they were not really interested. Overall we did not want to make a fuss and sowe managed. We had wanted to have a family holiday with 4 couples - 3 of which were our children with partners - so we tolerated this. Otherwise the place was absolutely fine although the porch screen was torn and the carpet and furnishings rather worn. As we booked for 2 weeks it would have been helpful to have been offered a linen change and a clean especially considering that this is not an inexpensive rental and there did not appear to be a discount for a longer stay.

  Overall, great vacation for my family. In regard's to the amenities inside the villa, recommend upgrading TVs to be larger, able to connect video games to it, and upgrade to a DVD player vs. VHS. Somewhat disappointed about the view because it wasn't on the beach. However, it didn't detract from the overall vacation. Wonderful place to go and we will be back.
