Stay at Palm Island Resort, located on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast, is the state’s only true-out island resort. No bridges or causeways to the island exsist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting. The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island. Guests travel to the island via car ferry and park their car in our island parking area. Transportation is provided by our bell staff and golf carts are also available for rent for registered guests.

  We rented a one bedroom villa. Since you cannot bring your car onto the property we had a golf cart for the two days we were there ($50 per day). Driving the cart to the northern end of the island, we found dozens of shark teeth and make shells we saved to take home. This made our stay as my wife is a veteran shark tooth collector od many years. Only one restaurant to eat at but it was good and reasonably priced. You can take the water taxi just behind the restaurant to the only other nearby restaurant (Leverocks) for a larger menu and higher prices. Lots of tennis courts, pools, well maintained property, great staff, would go there again for 3-4 days but probably would be bored for a longer stay.

  The only issue was the gates being locked at 11pm, we have friends that own a house on the island and would spend evenings and nights together.   Please provide full breakfast availbility. Need place to get hamburgers and FF (etc) besides the sit-down dining area. Rum Bay food and service very good. We particularly enjoyed the kayak to the hidden lake in spite of the heavy winds. We'll never go to Leverocks again. Terrible service with less than mediocre food. Water taxi was fun - especially the congeniality of the captain. Food and coffee way overpriced at Coconuts.

  The young bell boy was a little bit lazy. We carry most of the things to the 3rd floor!!!!.The place was clean and with everything you need. We went on Sep 16 for a week. Rainy season but we have sunny days. there were no more than 10 people in the resort during the week. The beach was for ourselves. The food in the restaurant could be better. You need to bring food if you are staying for more than 3 days. The apts should have Free Wi Fi. When we were leaving we call the front desk for a pick up and they never told the driver. He helped us because he was dropping somebody else and he saw we were waiting. our stay was quiet and relaxing and that's what we wanted.

  i purchased a groupon to use for this trip, and it was a nice relaxing day trip. beaches were nice, with the exception of some large decaying fish on the property that seems to have been there for quite a few days, apparently there had been red tide, but the smell was awful. down at the shark tooth beach, no dead fish, very nice there. large variety of shells and shark teeth. the condo was nice and clean, will be bringing my own pillows next time as they were very flat and hard. golf cart was nice to have. we wanted to go out on the kyak which was part of the deal and when we got there, the lady said that she had nobody to let us get it, it was only 2pm on a Sunday and that we could come back in the morning and use it, but that we not good for us, so we did not get to use the kyak. also we were supposed to get a "wine and cheese basket", well it was not a basket and there was a nice bottle of wine in a bag along with a chunck of cheese in plastic wrap and also a handful of crakers in some plastic wrap- i would have not given that to a guest. otherwise a good value for the money, not just exactly as i had imagined it would be from the advertisement. but lovely, lovely place and so peaceful, we will go back.

  Palm Island Resort offers an oasis from the day to day grind. Our stay was enjoyable from the minute we stepped foot on the island until we pulled away from the dock. It is quiet and relaxing but still provides all the amenities we would like. This was our third stay on the resort and would not hesitate to rebook for a spontaneous get away.

  Overall our experience was really great. The island is beautiful and the beach is very clean and not crowded. The villa was clean and spacious and had a great view of the beach. The only thing negative we noticed is that the bikes for rent were in very poor condition - rusty and not maintained well. We will definitely return for another visit.

  Miles of beautiful beach with almost no other people in sight!Roomy, well equipped suites.Prices went down considerably sine we were there last time about 4 years ago. The food in the local restaurants is kind of basic and simple,and also priced moderately. Over all, greatly enjoyed our stay, and will consider coming back again!

  We have been coming to Palm Island Resort since 1988. We have never had a bad time and off and on we have vacationed at other spots on Florida's gulf coast. Palm Island is to be commended for keeping the resort as promised - "never spoiled". Nothing beats a sunset from a villa balcony.

  All of the staff are always accomadating. I would like to give a special "shout out" to Maggie in the Recreation Center. She went above and beyond her regular duties to make sure we were able to bring home some swamp sauce even thought the general store was not opening until after our departure.   laid back, no noise, quiet peaceful, uncrowded - what we wanted:no night life, no discos, no casinos. long uncrowded beach but do beware the jellyfish. operationally, communication among staff could be better. minor issues, when we cked in our keys could not be found, our resort card and parking pass had wrong expiration dates on them. the activity sheet on the buletin board was 2 weeks old...for being what should be a "green" place, little or no emphasis on recycling anything. getting a newspaper can be difficult. they have free long distance calls- a perk, but only wireless internet access is at the restaurant area - could be a hassle - go figure!

  This was our first time staying on Palm Island in over 7 years, and we found it as relaxing, authentic, and peaceful as ever. Even though our 1-bedroom was "oceanview" and not "oceanfront" it was virtually oceanfront and had a panoramic view of the ocean from the large screened in porch. Recommend highly. Can't wait to come back for a 2nd getaway!

  I will certainly recommend Palm Island Resort to my friends. The only thing I would like to see changed are the lights along the path in front of the units. At night the lights sort of washed out the stars. Maybe lights that are directed down or hooded would help. But overall our stay was wonderful.

  This has been our favorite unit for many years but the condition has deteriorated too much, especially the floors and the bathroom. The look of the bathroom places the unit in the budget motel class. This is unfortunate becasue it decreased substantially our value of what we paid for. I will not stay in this unit again until it is remodeled. I know your policy regarding chossing specific units but I will request more information on future units to know whether they have been remodeled. For the price being charged, the unit needs to be better.
