Located at Palm Island Resort on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast. No bridges or causeways to the island exist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting.

  We loved the resort and the condo, it is an amazing setting on a beautiful island. We definitely would come back, but probably when the weather was more assured. During our stay, there was a cold front that came in that brought gray, rain, lots of flooding, rough seas and gloom. Because of the weather, we didn’t spend as much time outside/on the beach enjoying the wonderful amenities. As such, we had to go out and find fun, and spending more time off island than planned. The local area has a couple great restaurants, but we ended yo driving to Punta Gorda, Sarasota, Manasota Key, etc. to find places to eat and things to do, which is a bit of a haul. But on the nicer days, we walked the beach collecting shells, soaked in the not tub, rented kayaks, and had some nice daily runs on the island. I’d highly recommend this condo and the island, but 1. Be sure to use the kitchen a lot, and 2. Book at a time where great weather is expected

  A good friend of mine recommended Palm Island Resort to me. I rented two beachside Villas to accomodate my 3 grown children and their families. The pictures did not do the property justice. We found everything to be very clean and well maintained. The staff at Coconuts and the restaraunt were very friendly and personable. I would definately recommend Palm Island to my friends and would like to come back in the future. We loved having chairs accessible for beach use. And the pool was easy to access and maintained well.

  We had a very good time on our weekend at the Palm Island Resort. But we also learned a lot about how to have a better time the next time we visit. We came from Sarasota by boat and rented a beachfront villa. The unit was perfect.Steps from the beach, a community pool, hot tub and gas grills. All in excellent condition. The biggest downside of the island is there is just one restaurant to service the whole island, and it's only mediocre. Not bad, but not great. No atmosphere, lights way too bright and and noise WAY too loud. But the food is OK. What we learned for next time is to bring food to grill and plan to cook in our unit. Not to depend on the restaurant for too many meals.Also, we went by boat. Next time we will stay at least one more day to have a day to island hop by boat and explore the fun stops nearby. Cabbage Key, Boca Grande, etc. Also, there are no commercial services (zero) anywhere on the island. No stores of any kind, so be aware.

  Our one week vacation in a three bedroom condo was absolutely wonderful. The unit was clean, well accessorized and came with a fantastic view of the Gulf of Mexico. Weather was absolutely perfect and the staff were incredible. There was damage from Ian but repairworkers were everywhere. Rum Bay restaurant was open and the food was the best we have experienced and we have been going to PIR since 1988. Wonderful experience!

  Took daughter, son-in-law and 2 granddaughters to Palm Island for a graduation celebration for a week. Bikes were terrible. Went to get on boat to Leverock but were told they were not open. The next time the boat did not show up. Had to get 3 golf carts to get one that worked.

  Villa 1524 owners need to replace the front bedroom mattress, it’s not comfortable at all, slopes into the middle from sides and very hard. Floor lamp in den does not work. Maids need to clean under couch, I was looking for a missing puzzle piece we brought and it’s pretty nasty under it.

  We stayed in beautiful 1524A for my 40th birthday last week and had an amazing experience with friends and family. You can't beat the beautiful views of the Gulf as well as the spacious accommodations that this unit provides. Mornings out on the balcany were incredible. I honestly fell in love with your community and it's laid back, quiet, Old-Florida vibe. We enjoyed driving around in our golf cart and exploring what the area has to offer. It's hard to beat having the beach just steps away with very few people to share it with. A truly enjoyable experience and I highly recommend renting this unit.
  
  As first time visitors to the resort, the only semi-confusing issue that we encountered had to do with the golf cart parking outside our villa. A resident in an adjacent building (whom we never saw or met) left a very terse, borderline rude note on our golf cart saying that we were parked in the wrong spot and that we shouldn't charge our cart under the building. Only a small portion of the cart was under the building as was the electrical outlet itself. They were probably correct in their assertion but we were just a bit taken aback by this person's boldness and that he or she gave us no actual, real guidance as to where we needed to go. I spoke to a very nice gentleman at Coconuts (after the note writer complained to them without giving us a chance to resolve the issue) and he informed us of the rules. We just wanted to have our cart fully charged for our stay and didn't want to cause any trouble. Note: If you stay here make sure that you are parked out from underneath the building and closer to the stairs.
  
  Overall we had an amazing time with friends and family here and cannot wait to return. We are already planning our next trip there. All the staff was absolutely terrific and made our stay very enjoyable. Thank you for your hospitality and see you again soon.

  The unit is light and well decorated. Five of us fit very well, with a teenager living in the upstairs loft. The proximity to the pool was great. We had some issues: one of the locks on the main door did not work and we had to wait for resort staff to fix it and lost some fish we had brought in from the store. The second bedroom shower did not work properly. In all cases, the resort staff took care of the issues promptly and with good humor. I think the owners need to so over the unit and upgrade the locks and check showers and so on. This is a lovely unit but decor isn't everything! But I want to reemphasize the point that all of the people who work at the resort were great and easy to deal with.

  Nice beach and condo but had a few disappointments. Twin bed upstairs has big white stain on comforter, some lights don’t work, window screen laying on ground on loft deck, loft chairs broken, no door handle or lock on master bed bathroom door, knobs off cupboards in master bath, water in fridge does not work and upstair shower head did not work well. Furnishings are nice and master bather shower amazing. Beautiful view, clean and comfortable but needs basic maintenance and a little Tlc. No chairs for use on beach but great pool location.

  The rental villa was nice and had a great view however there are a few items that should be addressed: the refrigerator ice maker did not work; replace the mattresses in all rooms as they were all hard, thin and uncomfortable; replace the seating in the living area as it was so worn that the sofa 'ate' you when you sat down (very uncomfortable and difficult to get up out of); the faucets in the master bath leaked; the guest shower on main floor had no pressure and last, ensure that the cleaning service is doing their job. The microwave was not cleaned and we know this because the previous renter left $10 in it. Despite these items, we all still enjoyed our stay. This is the perfect place to be if you're looking to relax and not do much.

  Having stayed here before, I enjoy seeing how each unit is uniquely decorated with fun beach accents. This location is closest to the water, so we had plenty of walks along the shore. Never saw so many colorful new shells washed up on the sand! Dinner at Rum Bay was delicious. Missed Wi-Fi, but I suppose you go to the beach to disconnect...and we did.

  We rented four 3 bedroom condos on Palm Island. We had a great time. We walked every morning. We had a few hot water, air conditioning issues, but maintenance came quick. We had fun on the beach and pool. We used the grill at the pool. All the condos had nice area to congregate. We alternated meals at all the condos and accommadated 32 people. Some of the condos had pool toys, chairs and umbrellas. Overall everyone had a great reunion.

  This was my first trip to Palm Island. My entire family came for my niece's wedding. The resort is beautiful and the three bedroom villa that we occupied was very nice for two couples and three children. I loved the island - very tranquil yet quite warm still in late September! Our grandchildren loved the pool and would have equally enjoyed the beach had the red tide not prevented them from playing there....we certainly hope to return again. And the wedding was beautiful!

  Great venue for our family reunion! The staff was helpful and accommodating. We were a large group but given plenty of space and opportunity to gather and celebrate without annoying other guests. The spacious, uncrowded beach was delightful for sunbathers, shell collectors, bathers and frisbee tossers alike and the nearby pool offered a tranquil, shaded place to read or float and unwind.

  Had my daughters wedding on the island. It was a. Beautiful venue, the wedding cordoba toe (Amy) was very attentive and made sure all logistics were handled. My daughter lives 100 miles from the resort worked with the resort remotely. The 3 bedroom was very spacious. We had 90 people on the island and everyone had a very nice stay.

  Our family of six had a great week at a Palm Island villa. The property is beautiful and well-maintained. The grounds are fabulous. But the highlight is definitely the 1-2 miles of sugar sand beach and sunsets. Our kids enjoyed the ocean, as well as swimming in the pool and lounging in the hot tub. We were blessed with beautiful and warm Florida weather throughout our stay. The food at Rum Bay and Leverocks was excellent and we were able to have our annual New Years Eve root beer floats from the ice cream shop. We also enjoyed the island activities including tennis, and even a couple of golf cart parades. All said, this is a fantastic family resort with top notch service and amenities.

  We liked the resort and our unit very much. 1524 was decorated nicely, had new nice stainless appliances, a/c worked good although some rooms got colder than others, and it had a nice view. We were pleased and would stay again! The building is set behind the pool so the view is pool & then beach--I may have preferred direct beach but no biggie.

  Despite the arrival of Tropical Storm Andrea a day before our check-in and the location of our villa units being changed a week before due to the owner's wife's rigid demands, we ended up having a truly memorable, relaxing weekend with our children and grandchildren. The staff went out of their way to accommodate all of our requests and graciously introduced themselves upon our arrival on to the island. Each grandchild had a surprise sandbucket full of "goodies" prepared by Debbie awaiting them in the villas....our steak and lobster Birthday Bar-B-Q by the pool was deliciously prepared amidst a late afternoon rain shower and was thoroughly enjoyed by all (highly recommended activity!!!!). From riding around in the golf carts, to playing tennis, swimming in the pool, and riding tandem bikes, a great time was had by all. Even "nature" provided some really cool things for the kids to see - a snake (ugh!!), a big tortoise, a lobster crab found on the beach, rabbits, and a family of manatees under one of the docks...Only suggestion I would have is for Coconuts Café to stock more variety of food items. Big "shout out" to Jimmy, our valet driver, who was so helpful getting our belongings up and down those 3 flights of stairs!

  this is the third year that we have had a couple's weekend at the resort. We have a group of 6 couples, all from the Fort Myers, Fl. area. We have a wonderful time, every year. The resort amenities are great, as is the staff. In addition to playing tennis, we also set up our own croquet game in the field near the playground.
  Only negative comments: I think the golfcart rentals are too expensive and this year we chose to cook our own meals because last year the dinner at the restaurant was not good. I don't know if it would have improved since last year, since we didn't try it this year.
  We will definately be back next November.

  Our recent stay was during Tropical Storm Debby. In spite of the weather, we had a very relaxing weekend. Our villa was well appointed with an updated kitchen and master bath. Our only complaint was the tv in the living room was the only one connected to cable, although all the bedrooms had tvs. Would love to go back when the sun is shining.

  My husband, 3 grand children, son, dausghter-in-law, & I had such a wonderful time on the island. Our unit was newly decorated & beautiful. I am sorry to say that I am difficult to please but but I was very pleased with the whole experience. My only regreat is we did not spend enough time there as we had resurvations in Orlando at Bonnet Creek. We will be returning around Thanksgiving for more fun in FL & will spend more time on the island than at Disney.

  The place was incredible, perfect for out families with the kids. Very nice. the only problem was the ac vents were not working in the master bedroom. It was very hot in there, we had to keep the door open at all times and the fan blasting and the ac in the house turned down and freezing to cool that room. I called maintenance 2x and they never came, which was disappointing.
